If you are young, this is an investment in your future. If you are mature, this is a must!

Bones for Life® is a series of easy body movements that stimulate the growth of bone. These exercises (known as processes) are based on the Feldenkrais Method® and were developed by Ruthy Alon, one of Dr. Moshe Feldenkrais' original students. Many of the movements are done while simply standing or by pushing against a wall. Unlike simply lifting weights, these exercises strengthen your entire skeleton. All the movements are related to walking with emphasis on effective alignment.

Studies show that training in safe, weight-bearing movements in an efficiently-aligned skeleton can improve bone density over a relatively short period of time. The improved upright posture which emerges from the program reflects the body language of self confidence and inspires biological optimism.

Bone is a living organ, and, like the other parts of our organism, constantly renews itself. The rate of this renewal is determined by demand: the more appropriate pressure the bones experience, the more they are stimulated to renew themselves. With these exercises, pressure is applied in a safe and efficient manner.

Anyone interested in improving their posture, moving easier and/or preventing or reversing osteoporosis will benefit from this program.

According to the National Osteoporosis Foundation:

• Over half of people aged 50 and older have osteoporosis or low bone mass.
• A woman’s risk of hip fracture is equivalent to her combined risk of developing breast, uterine and ovarian cancer
• Osteoporosis, for the most part, is preventable
• Weight bearing exercise is an important component in the prevention of bone loss

Through these simple effective movement processes, you will gradually and safely:

• Learn natural movements that stimulate the necessary pressure to maintain and renew your bones.
• Get in touch with the wisdom inherent in your body and improve your coordination and stability.
• Re-awaken flexible movement and strengthen your skeleton.
• Improve your posture, balance and vitality.
• Recapture the pleasures of childhood.
• Reduce or even eliminate aches and pains.
• Restore confidence in your body as you re-establish your ability to move with both grace and power.
